Google integration

Google integration brings together two separate, optional helpers. The first lets you copy contacts from BuilderDash into your personal Google Contacts, so they're there on your phone and in Gmail. The second offers address suggestions as you type, so you can pick the right address from a list instead of typing the whole thing out. Neither is switched on until you use it, and both need Google to have been set up for your business first - if it hasn't, the Google Contacts panel will say so.

How to connect your Google account

1. Go to Settings, then Profile.
2. Find the Google Contacts panel.
3. Select Connect Google Contacts.
4. Sign in to Google and approve access when Google asks. You're brought back to your profile, where the panel now shows a green Connected badge and the email address of the account you linked.

Syncing contacts to Google

Once you're connected, you can send contacts across in a few ways:

• From an existing contact - open the contact and select Sync to Google. If it's already been sent across, the button reads Re-sync to Google and updates the existing entry rather than creating a duplicate.
• While creating a new contact - tick Sync to my Google Contacts before saving, and it's copied across as part of saving. This option only appears once your Google account is connected.
• Automatically for every new contact - in the Google Contacts panel in Settings, switch on Default new contacts to sync. From then on, the sync option is pre-ticked whenever you create a contact, though you can still untick it for any individual one.

Using address suggestions

When filling in your workspace address during setup, start typing the address and choose the matching one from the list that appears. The address fields are then filled in for you automatically.

Good to know

• Syncing is one-way only: BuilderDash sends contacts out to Google, it never reads anything back in.
• Contacts go to your own Google account, not a shared workspace one - each person connects their own Google account individually.
• Nothing is sent to Google automatically unless you've chosen to, either by ticking the sync option or by using Sync to Google on a contact.
• What gets sent for each contact: their name (or company name), email, phone, job title, linked company, and address.
• If your Google sign-in has expired, you'll be prompted to reconnect rather than the sync failing silently.
• Disconnecting removes the link and revokes BuilderDash's access to your Google account, but any contacts already copied across stay in Google.
• Address suggestions currently cover UK addresses only.
